Kilimanjaro 2019

Safari Only
A few facts about our Kilimanjaro Trip:
ELEVATION – 19,341’, The “Roof of Africa”, one of the Seven Summits. If you struggle with Altitude Sickness, at 14k’ or lower, this will be a challenge. But we will go up one of the slowest ways possible giving us the best chance of getting every person on top. We will take the newest route on Kili, the Northern Route and take 11 days to do this.
EXERTION – Even though we will go up slow (6 or 7 days up, 2 days down), the last day going to the summit may be the most challenging physical day of
your life.
INCLUDED
Transportation. We used to package transportation with the trip for just one price but we realize some may have points to us on flights. Also, people may have different schedules for longer trips. Based on probably flying from SFO, cost for round trip SFO to Kilimanjaro Airport in Tanzania will probably cost $2,000 - $2,500
Optional 3 day Standard level Safari.
Optional Zanzibar two night Add-on. This will probably cost $1,100-$1,300 including:

The Porters will carry tents, sleeping bags, pads, rest of your clothing, snacks, personal items, etc. You are allowed to give the porters up to 33 lbs of gear. See the attached example of a packing list. Warning, in 2010 the average person spent $500 to $1000 on new gear for this trip! You don’t have to… we can coach you on this, but the lighter your gear is, the more you can bring.
Vaccinations & Visas? There are various recommended vaccinations for travel into Tanzania. However, there are no required vaccinations. The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP) recommends the following vaccinations and medications: Malaria, Yellow Fever (required if entering Tanzania from an ‘infected area’), Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, and Rabies. Additionally, the CDCP recommends routine vaccinations for measles/mumps/rubella (MMR), diphtheria/pertussis/tetanus (DPT) and polio, if you are not up-to-date.
Travel Insurance and Medical Evacuation Insurance. We do not provide any type of insurance for the trip, including Travel or Medical Evacuation Insurance.
