Greg Weisman
Adventure Sports Pastor, Bayside Church

Greg grew up in Santa Barbara, California enjoying year-round activities outdoors. Greg began attending a local church there while in Jr. High, became a Christian shortly after, and then attended Westmont College in Santa Barbara beginning a pursuit of ministry as a career. Greg and his wife Gloria graduated from Westmont together in 1981 and moved to Denver for Greg to pursue his Masters degree at Denver Seminary. Greg & Gloria enjoyed the Colorado Rockies while beginning their family.
Their first two kids were born in '84 and '85 while Greg worked with High School Students through Youth For Christ's Campus Life Ministry. In 1986 they moved to Minnesota for Greg to begin an 11-year position as Jr. High Pastor of Wooddale Church. During that time, he developed his love for outdoor ministry by leading an annual 15-day trip for 9th graders to the Canadian Rockies. During that time two other children were born into the Weisman family (1990 & '92). In 1997 the family moved back to California where Greg became the Jr. High Pastor at the very new Bayside Church.
In 1998 he launched Bayside Adventure Sports (see our history page). While transitioning from Jr. High Pastor to Small Groups Pastor to Men's Pastor, to his current position as Adventure Sports Pastor, Greg has continuously served as the President of Bayside Adventure Sports and has been participating in many of the sports. Highlights have been the Reno to Las Vegas dirt bike rides, climbing Half Dome in Yosemite over 20 times, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in 2010, climbing the Grand Teton in 2011, leading two trips to Machu Picchu, and the many camping trips in Yosemite National Park. All their kids are married and their family continues to grow with the addition of a beautiful granddaughter in 2014 and a grandson in 2015!
